After a busy 2015 of touring in the U.S. and Canada, on July 18th, 2016, Montreal “punkgaze” crew streams their first album Memory is Short Longing via Exclaim. The 12'' LP is to be released on July 22nd, 2016 via Montreal-based L’Oeil du Tigre Records.

Continuing Sigh Down One’s unique brand of “contemplative grunge”, “Memory Is Short Longing” recalls the Swirlies, My Bloody Valentine, and Bleach-era Nirvana, pairing driving distorted guitar and bass lines with textural pop vocals. The Memory is Short Longing LP builds off of Sigh Down One’s previous one-off singles “Feeler” and “Last Love”, as well as their “I’m You Like You’re Me” EP from 2013.

Recorded on analog one-inch tape by Peter Woodford in Montreal’s Bottle Garden Studio (Freelove Fenner, Brave Radar, Jef Barbara), mixed by Seattle’s Dylan Wall (Craft Spells, Weed) and mastered in Montreal by Xavier Bourassa of Rollercoaster Audio (Gulfer, Black Love), Memory is Short Longing marks a dynamic affair, both production-wise and in terms of songwriting.
